VERUS HEALTHCARE IS A MEDICARE-ENROLLED PROVIDER

Medicare recently implemented a Competitive Bidding process to award Medicare contract supplier status to a select group of CPAP suppliers, including Verus Healthcare. If your current CPAP provider is NOT recognized as a Medicare Contract Supplier, they may no longer be able to provide you services or supplies. Only a select group of suppliers, like Verus Healthcare, will be able to provide services to Medicare patients moving forward.

21st Century Cures Act

You may have received a letter in the mail regarding the 21st Century Cures Act from Verus Healthcare. This law was passed by Congress in 2016 and will be implemented beginning July 1, 2017.

 

This law directly affects Durable Medical Equipment providers, like Verus Healthcare, and some Medicare orders for our patients that were provided with service dates between July 1, 2016 and December 31, 2016. Orders from this time period are to be retroactively corrected by Medicare for short-paid amounts.

 

If you have orders that are impacted, you should receive a new explanation of benefits from Medicare, followed by a corrected invoice from Verus Healthcare reflecting all applicable changes to any amounts owed. It could take up to six months following implementation to reprocess all claims.
